What Makes a Good Website in 2025? (And Why It Doesn’t Have to Cost the Earth)
If you’re a small business owner in Ireland, having a proper website isn’t really optional anymore, it’s how people find you, check you out, and decide whether to get in touch. A lot of websites I come across just don’t do their job properly. And most of the time, it’s not the business owner’s fault, they’ve either been overcharged, overwhelmed, or just haven’t had the time.
I’m Luke, a web designer based in Dublin, and I work with Irish businesses to build websites that are clean, fast, and genuinely reflect what you do. No fluff, no over complicated jargon, just solid design that looks great and works.
What Makes a Good Website?
A good website feels easy. It loads quickly, looks good on your phone, and helps people understand who you are and what you offer straight away. That’s the bar. Whether you’re a local café or a tradesperson, your site should help you get more enquiries and give people confidence in your work.
SEO: So You Actually Get Found
Search engine optimisation (SEO) just means making your site easier to find on Google. If someone’s searching “plumber in Dublin” or “Irish web designer,” and you’re not showing up, that’s business walking past your door. Small changes in layout, content, and speed can make a big difference.
Drone Footage Adds That Extra Layer
If you’ve got a location or a property-based business, drone footage can really bring your website to life. It gives a sense of place and honestly, people love it. I offer it as an add-on or stand alone service for roof inspections, aerial photography and drone footage, and it’s been a huge hit with estate agents, venues, and even outdoor brands.
A Price That Suits You
I want to hear exactly what you need and offer what's absolutely best for you, but at the end of the day you make the call on the size of website you want whether that might be a brochure site, e-commerce or a large site with all the bells and whistles it is up to you. I always keep things fair. I work one-on-one with you, and I don’t upsell things you don’t need. My goal is to give you a clean, modern site that helps your business grow.
If you’re based in Dublin or anywhere in Ireland and want to chat about how your website could be better - give me a shout. Even if it’s just to bounce ideas around, I'm more than happy to chat.
