About Project:

I had the privilege of working on the website for Dunsany Estate, a truly unique project shaped by the vision of Randal Plunkett, Lord of Dunsany. The estate, which spans over 1,600 acres of rewilded land in County Meath, is Ireland’s first large-scale rewilding project and holds a rare blend of history, biodiversity, and forward-thinking environmental action. The goal of the website was to bring all of this to life online - to reflect the estate’s evolving role as both a conservation success story and a hub for wellness retreats, environmental education, and corporate partnerships. The site needed to be more than just informational, it had to inspire investment in nature, attract like-minded partners, and showcase a range of unique offerings, from eco-cabin stays and forest bathing to BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) sponsorship opportunities. This was a collaborative process from day one. Randal and I worked closely to ensure the site felt authentic - capturing the estate’s heritage, serenity and purpose in a modern, intuitive way. I led on branding, copy direction, design, and structure, shaping a digital home that reflects both the timeless character of Dunsany and its bold, regenerative future.

Ideation and Result:

The design began with the estate’s natural beauty in mind. I wanted the experience to feel immersive with earthy tones, spacious layouts, and elegant typefaces that gave room for both the history and the wildness of the place to breathe. Subtle animations and transitions create a calm, considered browsing experience - one that mirrors a walk through the grounds. Each section was purposefully built: Experiences are bookable directly, with a visual focus on warmth, calm, and slow living. Corporate offerings highlight how companies can invest in rewilding efforts via biodiversity-led initiatives. Wellness experiences like forest bathing and outdoor sports days - are framed as natural extensions of the estate’s ethos. I also produced and edited drone videography to capture the estate from the air giving users a sweeping sense of the rewilded fields, ancient trees, and castle surrounds. These clips now serve across the site and future social campaigns, bringing a cinematic quality that standard imagery couldn’t offer. On the SEO side, I ensured all key services from BNG sponsorship to experience bookings are easily searchable and well-structured. Clean metadata, natural keyword use, and proper on-page hierarchy give the site a strong foundation for organic search performance over time. This was more than just a web build - it was about telling the story of a place that’s quietly leading the way in how we relate to nature. It remains one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on.
